IMO / Problem with spammers!
« on: June 12, 2011, 04:39:23 PM »
I have made some upgrades to this Forum and I hope to get a better control over the many spammers the add themselves to this site. Hope it works!

General / Emails from this Forum
« on: January 15, 2010, 08:44:07 AM »
I am sorry, but someone has managed to send emails with a story about some guitar player (George, I think his name was).

These did NOT come from me, Björn Eriksson

I don't know exactly what happened but I'll take a look to see if I can see what happened.

Every day I get attempts to register new member from various spam bots. These will of course be rejected but I always have to check the email address and nickname to figure out if it's a real person behind the registration. This is not very good.
I don't think I have rejected any "real" members but who knows... ???

I will do my best to solve this problem. Please leave as much information about yourself when registering!

General / Forum login problem
« on: March 16, 2009, 10:08:41 PM »
I have been told that there is a problem with the login function in this Forum. This was not known to me until a few hours ago. For the moment I have no further details about what's exactly happening. I have not encountered any difficulties with this myself so I hope it is a temporaily fault that will disappear.

Please use this topic to add your own experiences of this forum, not the content itself but about the functionality and technical issues. This must be forwarded to the software developers.

The Forum was updated recently to the latest version ( not the BETA, but the latest stable release).

Take care

XITS / XITS (exits) amplifiers
« on: February 05, 2009, 04:12:09 PM »

Exits, or XITS as the case may be, are in the simplest of terms the acting out of ones feelings instead of putting them into words.  This is what XITS is all about.  Engaging the musician with their instrument and connecting the mind body and soul like never before.  The design is straightforward and honest.  The roadblocks that minimize ones expressive nature have been removed.  Its now time to discover your true creative potential with the electric guitar.

XITS is the entry point of a great adventure.  One that I hope brings much discovery and joy!  XITS Tube Amplifiers faithfully pay respect to the history of the great tone generators of the past while looking boldly forward.  They are familiar yet new.  Modern and beautiful.  Highly responsive and soulful. In a word, XITS is like nothing else.  I hope you enjoy the adventure!

"I’m convinced that Koski’s meticulous attention to both visual and sonic detail puts this amp in a class all by itself. As a total package—a seamless convergence of technical innovation, craftsmanship, and artistic temperament—this amp is just astonishing."

Rickenbacker Guitar Models / Rickenbacker ukulele?
« on: October 11, 2008, 11:36:59 PM »
It would seem that Rickenbacker built a prototype electric Ukulele at some point. Could anyone possibly shed any light on this for me?

I updated my models library and added the Model 340S. Is there any other model 340S out there? It seems to be a very rare model and could easily have been a Rose Morris 1998 Export model if equipped with a vibrato tailpiece and sent to UK. But the thing wasn't. Now being an American domestic guitar it got the designation 340S. Take a look!

General / 10 years on the web!
« on: August 08, 2008, 11:07:04 AM »
Hi all,
Just wanted to announce this 10 years anniversary. The exact date for my site's official birth is October 14. Although the site started a little earlier I use this date as I obtained the permission to use Rickenbacker logos and trademark from RIC (John Hall).

Back then, the Internet wasn't near the size it is today and it was easier to build a site because there was hardly any pictures or articles about Rickenbacker guitars and basses.

I still remember the close-up photo of my 360/12V64 headstock. This one, a very simple photo, showed how the 12-string headstock was built and there were many who saw it for the first time. A photo shot in Sweden could be accessed from every corner of the world (so to speak) and I realized that it was a huge demand for more of this kind of stuff. I created the gallery and the Models library.
This was done in the early era of digital photography and the cameras weren't very good. Still it was a huge step in the evolution. I think the camera had 1,0 megapixel and the largest picture size was 640 x 480.

Yes, 10 years is a long time......

Take care

Soundcheck / Stage setup
« on: June 18, 2008, 08:47:22 PM »
Here is a picture of how my stage setup looks at right now. The amplifier isn't the best but the other parts are great.
The drawing is showing my 4 cable method setup. The benefits are that you can use a the preamp of the Peavey (read Vox AC30CC2X ;)) and then route the signal to my Tonelab LE for the reverb, modulation and delay effects before the signal hits the power amp (on the guitar amp).
This loop makes it possible to use the amp characteristics but still be able to use the multple effects in the Tonelab LE in the best position, between pre and power amp. I usually disengage the amp/cab modelling on the Tonelab LE when running this setup. But sometimes it can be handy to only use the full sound of the Tonelab LE without the loop function and send it right into the amp (sounds good, too). As I said, this setup would really be better with a better amp.

Rickenbacker Guitar Models / George Harrison - 360/12 New Style
« on: April 11, 2008, 11:07:26 PM »
This guitar was lost long time ago. I haven't seen it on any recent photos.
The last I heard was that it was found again on Abbey Road.
Anyone in this forum who knows more about this?
