I'll start! This is great... I get to start a new topic in a new forum!  Grin

I've been using Sonar since before it was Sonar (Cakewalk). I've tried all the others, including Pro Tools, Cool Edit (now Adobe Audition), Cubase etc., and find Sonar is the easiest, most powerful and most versatile multitrack recording software out there. I am currently using Sonar Producer 6. I also use Sony SoundForge 7.0 to do a final master (edits, fade-outs and mastering compression).

My system is setup like this:

M-Audio Audiophile USB external sound card
Alto S-6 Mixer
Behringer MIC200 Tube Preamp
Apex large diaphram condenser microphone (vocals)
Behringer C2 - dual condenser microphones (acoustic mic'ing)
Behringer VAMP2 guitar effects
Behringer CS-2 Compressor/Sustainer (for my Ric 360/12)
Zoom B2 bass effects
Zoom 504II acoustic effects
Line6 Echo Park delay/echo
Fender Acoustasonic acoustic amp
Line6 Spider II 112 guitar amp
Edirol PCR-M1 Midi Controller/Keyboard

You can hear some of my recordings on my SoundClick site (link in my signature).

What kind of system do you have? What software/effects/amps/mics do you use?

I love recording... just finished a cover of "My Back Pages" by The Byrds.

What is your opinion on GarageBand? I love it and seriously wish I could afford pro-logic to go with it.
